Harbourne Blue

Made using Goats’ milk from the Verney’s in South Molton.

We started getting fabulous milk from Mr Verney in March 2026, after our old supplier retired. We tried a few different sources to see which suited our cheese best – the milk from South Molton works so well!

He milks mainly Saanen with a few Toggenburg’s mixed in. They are fed a mixture of quality silage and cake and are housed in families with an abundance of fresh barley straw every day.

Harbourne Blue is a distinctive, hand-crafted blue cheese made from goats milk, offering a beautifully balanced combination of sweetness, savoury depth, and gentle blue character. Naturally creamy and smooth, it has a mellow intensity that builds slowly on the palate without being overwhelming.

The goats milk gives Harbourne Blue its signature  soft, velvety texture, while subtle blue veining adds earthy notes and a refined tang. Less sharp than many blues, it’s elegant, rounded, and exceptionally moreish. Harbourne Blue very often has an abundance of flavours that include fruity, coconut undertones.

Harbourne Blue is often a good choice for those new to blue cheese as it is mild in both blue and goaty flavours. Harbourne Blue works effortlessly on a cheese board and melts superbly into sauces, risottos, or pasta dishes. Try it with fresh figs, walnuts, or a drizzle of honey, and pair with a dessert wine, or crisp sparkling cider.
